Bye-bye Charlie!
Agreed. Looks like I'll be pulling the plug on my DN subscription. And re-upping with the EFF.

It's not like Coolsat sold directly to any of us anyways. How does dish expect them to come up with names?
It's not illegal to buy them anyways.....I would definitely fight it and counter sue for defamation plus court costs. You would easily win. |

If was that easy, Microsoft and Bill Gates long ago should get tons of money from East Europe, China, Arab countries-where all the software is still 80% fake.

The problem with going after end-users is how do you calculate losses?? These companies aren't able to attach a cost or potential loss to the pirating issue. They have to go after those who have profited from the sale of illegal goods and services. How do you calculate how much TV a person watches, or how much software they used or whether they would have purchased your product in the first instance, if they couldn't get it for free. Until it is against the law to own a FTA receiver, they can't afford to take individuals to court when they "have to prove economic hardship", ......... something they can't possibly do.
